MURRAY BRIDGE REGIONAL GALLERY
27 Sixth Street Murray Bridge, SA 5253

Murray Bridge Regional Gallery is set in the heart of the town’s arts precinct, located just 45 minutes from Adelaide, on beautiful Ngarrindjeri country near the banks of the majestic Murray River.

HISTORY

Celebrating its 21st anniversary in 2022, the gallery was originally established by dedicated community members, and operations were soon embraced by Rural City of Murray Bridge. In 2010, Murray Bridge hosted the SA Government’s Regional Centre of Culture program, which supported a major redevelopment that transformed the historic Town Hall into a versatile cultural venue for visual and performing arts.

NOW

Acclaimed as one of the premier regional galleries in SA, it brings enriching and adventurous contemporary arts experiences to the region, and showcases local arts practices across the Murraylands and surrounds.

PUBLIC ART

The gallery is also a great place to embark on a tour of the region’s public art, featuring murals, sculptures and integrated artworks, which highlight the city’s Ngarrindjeri significance, historical richness, multicultural nature and environmental qualities.

PUBLIC PROGRAM

Annually, the gallery co-hosts Murray Bridge Fringe and presents Sixth Street MAKERS MARKET, brimming with diverse local and South Australian handcrafts, and Sixth Street ART FEST, offering a bevy of free creative workshops.

The public program also offers craft workshops, artist talks and gallery tours throughout the year.

EXHIBITION PROGRAM

Culturally and conceptually diverse projects range from seasoned to experimental artforms, by leading and emergent artists, as well recreational makers and young people.

Murray Bridge Regional Gallery is often the exclusive South Australian venue for major touring exhibitions, and enjoys dynamic partnerships with significant State-wide festivals and national cultural institutions.
