Join us for an afternoon of artmaking outdoors at the Round House, a local historic landmark nestled in Murray Bridge’s own backyard, with impressive views of the Murray River and town.
En Plein Air, the French phrase meaning “in the open air”, refers to the act of making art while outdoors. This approach to art can be used anywhere outdoors but is often enjoyed in places with impressive views or interesting scenery – and the Round House has a plethora of both!
En Plein Air at the Round House is a workshop style experience, during which participants will have the opportunity to take a tour of this local historic landmark nestled in Murray Bridge’s own backyard, before gathering together on the Rose Garden’s manicured lawns, to explore ways of drawing and painting the world around us. During this workshop, participants will delve into ways of interpreting the beautiful surrounds in a few short studies, before building upon and refining their favourite one.
Some art materials will be available to try on the day, and participants are encouraged to bring their own materials so they can learn how to develop their artistic practice using resources they already own.
